Michalis Poupazis is a Part-time Lecturer in Ethnomusicology, the MA Ethnomusicology Programme Coordinator, and an Assistant Examiner at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. He completed his PhD at UCC, under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Stock. His doctoral thesis, entitled ‘Extending our senses: Music, nostalgia, space, artefact and the Mediterranean imaginary among the Greek- and Turkish-speaking Cypriot diaspora in Birmingham (UK)’ (https://cora.ucc.ie/handle/10468/3997), explores Mediterranean cultures and the utterance of their cultural resources, focusing on Greek- and Turkish-speaking Cypriots in native and diasporic settings.
